Terms of Service
By procuring repair services from Geek Garage, Customer certifies they are authorized to obtain repair services for the device(s) submitted for repair. Full payment, minus deposits paid, is due upon completion of services. Devices not collected within thirty (30) days of completion shall be considered abandoned and may be subject to disposition at Geek Garage’s sole and final discretion.
By submitting a device to Geek Garage for repair, Customer certifies they have backed up all user data and, where applicable, relevant data encryption keys. Under no circumstances shall Geek Garage be liable for loss of, damage to, or irretrievable corruption of Customer data.
Customer acknowledges repair services provided by Geek Garage may void manufacturer warranties and may also void third-party insurance coverage.
WARRANTY: Unless otherwise noted, Geek Garage proudly offers a 6-month warranty covering defective components. In the event this warranty is invoked, Geek Garage, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to either issue a refund in an amount not to exceed the original purchase price, or provide a replacement component or device of equal or greater value, as deemed appropriate for the affected item(s). Geek Garage’s warranty is not insurance. Damage or device/component failure due to abuse, misuse, liquid exposure, or tampering by the customer or any third party is classified as Customer Induced Damage (CID). Devices with CID are not eligible for warranty coverage and may incur additional repair costs. Geek Garage reserves the right to refuse service or provide a revised quote for repair if CID is identified during inspection. There is no warranty coverage for water-damaged devices, data services, or soldering services.
RETURN POLICY: Retail merchandise must be returned within seven (7) days of original purchase and must be in the same general condition with all original parts/components, software, accessories, and retail packaging (if applicable) to be eligible for return. Items eligible for return may be subject to a minimum restocking fee of twenty-five percent (25%), and will be charged at Geek Garage’s sole discretion. Incomplete merchandise, merchandise demonstrating excessive wear, improper use, abuse, tampering, or damage/contamination by liquids, tobacco smoke and/or smoking debris, or devices not returned within seven (7) days shall not be eligible for return or refund.
- INTAKE FEES: Intake Fees paid on any device intake are not refundable in whole or in part. Intake Fees applied toward the purchase of merchandise shall be subtracted from any refund(s) or credit(s) issued in the event said merchandise is eligible for return.
- DEPOSITS: Deposits paid for special-order parts or equipment are generally non-refundable except at Geek Garage’s sole discretion.
- CUSTOM-BUILT PCs: Computers built to a customer’s specifications may not be returned except at Geek Garage’s sole and final discretion and will be subject to a minimum forty percent (40%) restocking fee.
- PC COMPONENTS: All sales of PC components for installation by customer or any third party are final and not eligible for refund. Functional, like-new components may be returned for credit or exchange at Geek Garage’s discretion. It is the customer’s sole responsibility for verifying compatibility between purchased components and the intended application/system.
- INSTALLED ITEMS: No refunds shall be made for any item or equipment once installed to a customer’s device or premises.
INCOMPLETE/PARTIAL REPAIRS, USE OF THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS: At its sole and final discretion, Geek Garage may cooperate with a customer’s request to:
- Perform an incomplete or partial repair of a damaged device; and/or
- Attempt completion of a partial or aborted repair attempted or initiated by a third party; and/or
- Perform a repair to a device using components sourced by the customer.
In such circumstances, any and all work provided or performed by Geek Garage shall be on an as-is, where-is basis with no warranties expressed or implied. The customer specifically acknowledges there are risks inherent with such repairs, which include but are not limited to: further damage to the device which may or may not be repairable/recoverable, catastrophic failure of the device which may result in injury to persons and/or damage to property, as well as permanent data loss. The customer absolves Geek Garage of any and all liability arising from customer’s continued use of any device(s) meeting any of the criteria listed above.
